NFL Prospect Kyren Lacy Dead At 24 After Police Encounter

Former Louisiana State University wide receiver Kyren Lacy died from an apparent “self-inflicted gunshot wound” following a police pursuit in Texas, Saturday.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, the Constable’s Office responded to a weapons disturbance call from a female relative who said she got into a verbal argument with Lacy, which ended with him firing a gun into the ground.

The release from the sheriff’s office said Lacy fled the scene in a vehicle before authorities arrived. The police later spotted his vehicle and “attempted to make a traffic stop.”

The release issued by the Sheriff’s office said” a vehicle pursuit took place spanning several miles. Near the 25900 block of Aldine Westfield, the suspect vehicle crashed.”

They went on to say that “upon attempting to take Lacy into custody and remove him from the vehicle, discovered he had suffered what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

The release said, “Lacy was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel.”
