NRA Is Back: Near Record 77,000 Attended Convention, ‘More Guns, Gear’ Sold

After a few tough years, it appears that members — and money — are returning to the National Rifle Association.

Officials heralded a near-record-setting 77,246 people who attended the April national convention in Indianapolis. And it now has 5 million members.

“The NRA signed up more new members this year than in previous years, vendors sold more guns, gear, and hunting trips than most could remember, and even many of the reporters covering it noted the upbeat feeling that prevailed through the three-day gathering,” former NRA President David Keene said.
