Vida Blue was at 22 the youngest MLB player to win the American League’s MVP award.

Blue also helped the Oakland A’s win three straight World Series in the 1970 and was part of the brash, captivating team led by slugger Reggie Jackson.

“He was engaging. He was personable. He was caring,” Jackson told the Associated Press on Sunday. “He was uncomfortable with the crowd.”
