Only One ‘America First’ Sec of State Candidate Wins

The final defeat for the group's slate of candidates came Saturday when Republican Jim Marchant was defeat by Democrat Cisco Aguilar in Nevada’s secretary of state race.

  • All of the America First candidates in a critical battleground states lost this year.
  • Secretary of state contests were largely low-profile, down-ticket races until 2202 when the security of elections systems across the country were called into question.
  • Only Diego Morales, a Republican in conservative-leaning Indiana, was elected this year.
  • Candidates in Arizona, Michigan and New Mexico were defeated.
  • The group’s larger plan was to have Republicans in control of elections in the 2024 presidential cycle, not Democrats who were running them in 2020.
