Speculation has emerged regarding Oprah Winfrey as a potential replacement for California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, should the 89-year-old lawmaker decide to retire before her term concludes next year.

Concerns have been raised about Feinstein’s health and her ability to fulfill her Senate duties, particularly after she recently returned to Capitol Hill following a 10-week absence due to a bout of shingles.

Feinstein has previously stated her intention to retire at the end of her current term. However, The Associated Press has revealed that various names are being considered as potential successors in the event of an early retirement by the California Democrat.
