- In a video on Truth Social, Trump said Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis’ handling of the pandemic in his state was just “average” compared to other Republican governors.
- “How about the fact that he had the third most deaths of any state having to do with the China virus or COVID? Even Cuomo did better, he was number four,” said Trump, who also suggested then-New York City Democrat Gov. Andrew Cuomo executed better COVID-19 policy.
- DeSantis responded on the “Ben Shapiro Show,” calling the comment “very bizarre.”
