PayPal Plans To Swipe $2,500 From Users Who Spread ‘Misinformation’

  • PayPal plans to take $2,500 from users whom it purports to have spread “misinformation” or present risks to users’ “wellbeing.”
  • This is the next step for PayPal, which has been aggressive in deplatforming organizations and individuals for their political views.
  • Starting on Nov. 3, PayPal plans to enforce prohibitions on “the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials” that “promote misinformation.”
  •  PayPal said it will have “sole discretion to subject users to “damages,” including having $2,500 “debited directly from your PayPal account.”
