Pipe Bomb Found Behind Catholic Church In Dem-Led Philadelphia

  • An 18-inch pipe bomb — found behind a Catholic church in Philadelphia on Sunday by a passerby — launched an investigation and brought local bomb squad authorities to investigate the scene.
  • Philadelphia Police Department officials told a local Fox News affiliate that a passerby found a PVC pipe with capped ends and black powder near Conrail train tracks behind St. Dominic’s Catholic Church just before 1:40 p.m. in Philadelphia’s Holmesburg section. 
  • Authorities shut down surrounding streets while a bomb squad removed the pipe bomb and transported it back to police headquarters.
