Plane Crashes With 53 Rescue Dogs Onto Wisconsin Golf Course

The three passengers and all dogs survived the crash landing.

  • According to the Waukesha Sheriff’s Department and the Human Animal Welfare Society, the plane crash-landed near the third hole on the Western Lakes Golf Course near Pewaukee about 17 miles west of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
  • About 300 gallons of fuel were spilled in the crash, with some dogs experiencing minor injuries.
  • The flight was part of a planned transport of adoptable dogs from New Orleans, Louisiana, to Wisconsin-area shelters.
