- Pope Francis, who was recently hospitalized for bronchitis, will not preside over Good Friday’s late-night Way of the Cross service because of immensely cold weather in Rome.
- According to the Vatican, instead of presiding over the torch-lit procession at the Colosseum, the pontiff will watch from the hotel where he resides in the Vatican.
- Pope Francis will still attend the Passion of the Lord celebration at St. Peter’s Basilica, which will occur earlier in the day, the Vatican added.
