A Vatican official said Thursday that there is a possibility that Pope Francis will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the Vatican this weekend.
The meeting could take place on Saturday, according to Italian media reports that cited unnamed sources.
Pope Francis has been a vocal advocate for an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine and has expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people. He recently mentioned a secret peace “mission” was in progress but gave no further details.
