- On Monday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a surprise visit to Kherson in celebration of the southern city being freed from eight months of Russian occupation.
- Zelensky addressed a cheering crowd and said, “We are, step by step, coming to all of our country.”
- Russian troops, however, are still within artillery range after retreating from Kherson on the west bank of the Dnipro River to the east side.
