Presidential Endorsements Don’t Matter Lots, Especially Biden’s

  • Endorsements from former Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama are likely to help candidates in Tuesday’s elections far more than President Joe Biden’s backing, the latest sign of how weak the sitting president is.
  • In the last Rasmussen Reports survey released before today’s elections, just 28% said that an endorsement from Biden would make voters “more likely” to choose his favored candidate. Even among Democrats, it was just 51%.
  • Still, showing that voters like to pick their own candidates, 40% said that they would be less likely to choose a candidate backed by either Trump or Obama.
