Pro-Police Flag Banned By LAPD

Order ‘vehemently’ opposed by police officer union

  • The Thin Blue Line flag was banned by the Los Angeles Police Department in public spaces in police departments after getting a complaint that the flag stood for “violent, extremist views.”
  • The LAPD chief said that officers can display the flag in “their workspace, [on their] locker door, or [in their] personal vehicle” but it must be removed from public areas.
  • The move was criticized as “political pandering” by a union representing police officers.
