ussian President Vladimir Putin on Monday signed a law that officially ratifies a strategic partnership with Iran, which promises better cooperation in trade, defense, energy, and regional infrastructure projects.
The original agreement was reached in January, when Iranian leader Masoud Pezeshkian visited Moscow, but the agreement was not ratified until a law on the matter passed the Russian legislature, and was signed by Putin, according to the Kyiv Independent.
The deal includes promises that neither side will provide assistance to a third party involved in military conflict with the other, meaning Iran cannot help Ukraine while it is fighting Russia.
