Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul warned that the GOP would face a decline in popularity among young voters if it succeeds in banning the Chinese Communist Party-linked app TikTok, according to a report by Politico.

Paul argued that the party could “continuously lose elections for a generation” if the app is banned across the US.

“We are in a political world,” Paul said. “We shouldn’t be completely oblivious to the fact that a lot of young people are on there and it is, frankly, their freedom of speech.”
