  • On Friday, officials revealed that a man and a woman, whose identities are being kept confidential at the request of their families, were successfully identified through the utilization of advanced DNA technology.
  • This breakthrough follows more than twenty years of prior testing that had yielded negative results. The latest success was made possible through the application of next-generation sequencing technology, a method also employed by the military in the process of identifying missing service members.
