- According to Politico, top Democrats are seeking a replacement for current House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
- Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of Brooklyn is the favorite, hurriedly meeting with current 82-year-old House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn to confirm he didn’t want the top job as Rep. Adam Schiff was said to be interested as well.
- There’s nothing I would ever do to impede the progress of our up-and-coming young Democrats and I see him as an up-and-coming young Democrat,’ Clyburn said.
