• According to a report, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was warned by multiple Attorneys General about patterns leading to the Christmas travel debacle that left thousands of flights cancelled and thousands of travelers stranded.
• “Four months before Southwest’s mass cancellation of flights, 38 state attorneys general wrote to congressional leaders declaring that Buttigieg’s agency ‘failed to respond and to provide appropriate recourse’ to thousands of consumer complaints about airlines customer service,” reports Lever News.
• Just a week after the letter and before the Christmas travel meltdown, Buttigieg told The Late Late Show that airline travel “is going to get better by the holidays” and that he was pressing airlines “to deliver better service.”
