- Schiff made the comments Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” following reports Friday the Jan. 6 select committee will vote Monday on criminal referrals in connection with its probe.
- The committee will make the referrals to the Justice Department, with Trump reportedly among those on which the panel will vote.
- “I think that the evidence is there that Donald Trump committed criminal offenses in connection with his efforts to overturn the election,” Schiff said Sunday.
- He also said: “Viewing it as a former prosecutor, I think there’s sufficient evidence to charge the president.”
