- The Texas GOP-led House voted Saturday to impeach Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton on alleged corruption.
- The vote was 121-23 with two voting present.
- Under the Texas Constitution, Paxton will have to step aside temporarily as the process plays out.
- The Senate will now take up the matter and vote whether to remove the attorney general. Two-thirds of the Senate must vote to remove him, which in this case means 21 senators, or he will remain in office.
- Paxton is under investigation by the FBI for allegedly misusing his office to assist a donor.
