Minnesota Governor and Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate Tim Walz ignored a question regarding the discovery of six hostages found dead in Gaza when he was asked by reporters while on the campaign trail this weekend.
Walz attended the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday with his wife and daughter, where he was seen ordering a pork chop and later ice cream. As he interacted with attendees and media, calling it the “best” state fair, one reporter asked him, “What’s your reaction to the six hostages being found in Gaza?”
Walz chose to ignore the question, instead waving to the crowd and saying, “Thanks everybody,” before immediately walking away.
The question referred to a report that six hostages held by Hamas were found dead in Gaza, including an American citizen. The victims included Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, Eden Yerushalmi, 24, Ori Danino, 25, Alex Lobanov, 32, Carmel Gat, 40, and Almog Sarusi, 27. The bodies were discovered in an underground tunnel in Gaza on Sunday, according to Israeli military officials. The six individuals were among over 200 hostages taken by Hamas terrorists during their attack on Israel on October 7.
The Israeli Defense Forces confirmed that the six individuals were “brutally” murdered “a short while” before troops were able to reach where they were being held. Three of the hostages were previously expected to be released during an eventual ceasefire agreement, according to CNN.
