The Texas man who fatally shot eight people this past weekend in a Texas outdoor mall joined the Army in June 2008 but was kicked out after three month.
The shooter, 33-year-old Mauricio Garcia, was discharged for a physical or mental condition, a U.S. Army spokesperson said Monday, two days after the massacre at the Allen Premium Outlets, in the Dallas area.
βHe was separated under the 2005 edition of Army Regulation 635-200, paragraph 5β17, other designated physical or mental conditions,β an Army official told NBC News.
