- House Speaker Mike Johnson indicated Monday he has given fellow House Republican Rep. George Santos “options” to consider ahead of an expected vote this week will that likely expel him from Congress over ethic violations, principally related to his 2022 election campaign.
- “I’ve spoken to Congressman Santos at some length over the holiday and talked with him about his options,” Johnson said. “But we’ll have to see. It’s not yet determined, but we’ll be talking about that when we get back [to work on Capitol Hill] tomorrow.”
- A damning House Ethics Committee report released earlier this month about campaign spend appears to a final straw for members of the GOP House Conference.
