• In a career-spanning interview on “The Late Show with Steven Colbert,” the “E.T.” and “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” director was asked about the recent surge in UFO spottings. While the Oscar frontrunner isn’t ready to fully endorse the theory that we’re being visited by aliens, the saga has certainly piqued his interest.
• “I’ve never seen a UFO,” Spielberg said. “I wish I had! I’ve never seen anything I can’t explain. But I believe certain people who have seen things that they can’t explain. I think what has been coming up recently is fascinating, absolutely fascinating.
