A day after a bomb threat closed the Springfield, Ohio, City Hall, three schools in the city closed due to bomb threats.
The Springfield City School District said Friday that two schools had to be evacuated, and another school was closed over bomb threats mentioning the buildings. Officials did not specify a motivation behind the threats.
“This morning, Perrin Woods and Snowhill Elementary students were evacuated from their buildings to an alternate district location for parent pick-up after the Springfield Police Division received bomb threats that mentioned those buildings. Additionally, Roosevelt Middle School was closed prior to the beginning of the school day in relation to the same information received,” the district’s Superintendent Robert Hill said in a message to families Friday.
“There are no additional threats to any SCSD buildings. The District Safety Team and Administration continues to work with local, state, and federal authorities to investigate the threats received regarding our schools,” Hill added.
