State Proposes Bill To Ban Local Governments From Funding Abortions

- Tennessee state Rep. Debra Moody, R-Covington, filed a bill this week to prohibit local governments from supporting the killing of unborn babies with taxpayers’ money, just a few months after the Nashville City Council voted to give half a million dollars to Planned Parenthood.
- In October, Nashville city leaders cut funding from police and other health programs to create the new grant for the billion-dollar abortion chain Planned Parenthood, ignoring concerns about job cuts and tax dollars being used to support abortions.
- Moody did not say if the city council’s action prompted her to introduce the bill, but it could be one reason, the Nashville Tennessean reports.
