Take Off: Transatlantic Flights Back To 99% Of Pre-COVID Travel Levels

- Transatlantic travel is projected to hit 99% of pre-pandemic levels in May, according to data from aviation analytics firm Cirium published Friday, with 4,414 flights scheduled to depart Britain for the United States this month.
- Newsmax reported that Cirium said that compared to 4,456 flights in May 2019, before widespread travel restrictions were put in place to slow the spread of COVID-19.
- Transatlantic flights from Britain to the United States are up 22% compared to May last year and up 493% compared with May 2021, Cirium said, as business and leisure trips resume.
