Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration regarding a recently implemented asylum rule, asserting that the controversial CBP One application is being utilized to bypass federal law.

The lawsuit specifically targets a rule that was proposed earlier this year and came into effect after the expiration of the Title 42 public health order earlier this month.

This rule assumes that migrants who enter the United States unlawfully and fail to seek asylum in a country they previously traveled through are ineligible for asylum. The app allows migrants to schedule appointments at a port of entry for processing.
