Thieves Use Hammers In Smash-And-Grab At LA County Mall, Put Holiday Shoppers In A ‘Panic’

- Police in the city of Arcadia, in Los Angeles County, are searching for a group of men who stole purses and watches Sunday from a high-end store in a smash-and-grab robbery.
- The store, Rebag, is a consignment shop in the Santa Anita mall.
- The thieves used the hammers to smash glass display cases and took off with several watches and purses.
- “There was a bunch of banging noises after,” mall employee Briana Arevalo told a local TV news station. “It almost sounded like gunshots because it was kinda after the other and then people just ran, it was panic everywhere.”
