• California-based electric car company  issued a major recall on Friday over loose fastener posing safety risk.
• The company said in an email to customers it had received multiple reports of the problem and that it was “committed to fixing this issue on any affected vehicles as quickly as possible.”
• “We will begin immediately contacting affected customers to schedule appointments for inspections and repairs if needed,” the company said. Repairs will be done “free of charge” at company service centers and fixes could be done in “a few minutes,” company said.
• Based in Irvine, Rivian is known for its line of electric SUVs and pickup truck.
