- The VA official offered an alternative: a written offer to provide her with a medically assisted suicide kit. The unnamed caseworker reportedly has made the same offer to other veterans.
- While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau condemned the incident, the fact is that assisted suicide has become an accepted alternative since Canada passed its medically assisted suicide law in 2016.
