• Former President Donald Trump threw his weight behind House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy, telling  conservatives currently withholding support for McCarthy’s speakership bid to stand down, according to an exclusive report by Breitbart News.
• “I like him,” Trump said of McCarthy, before saying that conservatives opposing McCarthy’s bid were acting against the party’s interests.
• While Trump did not name those trying to block McCarthy’s speakership bid, he made clear that  he disagrees with their efforts. He warned that there could be serious consequences if McCarthy does not get the gavel and they could make Washington worse for conservatives.
