President Donald Trump on Tuesday confirmed that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will represent his administration in Turkey, to oversee peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump previously floated attending the negotiations in Istanbul himself, highlighting how “relentlessly” he has been pushing to end the years-long war, and commented Monday that he would go if he thought it would help.
