- CNN morning anchor Don Lemon and former President Trump’s attorney Alina Habba sparred Monday over the Mar-a-Lago document investigation and Trump’s indictment.
- Habba, who is not representing Trump in his indictment in the New York City hush money case, nevertheless called it “bunch of garbage.”
- When Lemon stuck to the general talking point that the public doesn’t knows what Trump is being charged with because the indictment is still sealed, Habba essentially said its very clear it’s about the former president giving adult film star Stormy Daniels hush money in 2016.
- Lemon then brought up a recent news report that stated the Justice Department found new evidence allegedly showing Trump obstructed the investigation into classified documents found at his private Florida residence in August. The department reportedly argues that Trump “personally examined at least some of those boxes.”
- Habba shot back: “No, I have nothing to do with that case. I do not know.”
