Trump Says Cheney Book Wrong About Election Loss, Not Depressed, Just Angry

- Former President Trump and his allies are pushing back on the comments of former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney while hawking the release of her new book – including that a second Trump presidency has the potential to become a “dictatorship.”
- The former Wyoming congresswoman and outspoken Trump critic says former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told her Trump was depressed and not eating after the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol in which some protesters tried to stop the certification of the results of the 2020 election that Trump lost.
- “That statement is not true,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “I was not depressed, I WAS ANGRY, and it was not that I was not eating, it was that I was eating too much.”
