President Trump on Tuesday paid tribute to Rev. Jesse Jackson as a “force of nature” in the wake of the legendary civil rights leader’s death.
“He was a good man, with lots of personality, grit, and ‘street smarts.’ He was very gregarious – someone who truly loved people!” Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post.
“Jesse was a force of nature like few others before him,” he added.
Trump offered up his condolences after Jackson, a protégé of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., died at his home in Chicago earlier Tuesday.
Describing Jackson as someone he knew “well” and long before he became president, Trump heaped praise on the icon’s civil rights work throughout his life.
