Trump Without Explanation Asserts Bragg No Longer Pursing Indictment

Donald Trump made the assertion that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has “dropped” an investigation into  him having given hush money to porn actress Stormy Daniels, after he made an uproar last week about Bragg planning to indict and arrest him March 21.

Trump report made the statement while talking to reporters about his jet Saturday night whne returning from hjis campaign rally in Waco, Texas.

“I think they’ve already dropped the case,” Trump said. “It’s a fake case. … They have absolutely nothing.”

Trump didn’t say what led him to believe the case was dropped, but his claim last weekend about the indictment-arrest timeline sparked a lot of backlash about the case, now roughly two years old, being politically motivated.

A Bragg spokesperson declined Sunday to comment on Trump’s assertion but pointed to a statement Saturday about the Daniels probe being an “ongoing matter.”
