During a meeting on Tuesday, Tesla CEO Elon Musk engaged with China’s foreign minister in light of the escalating tensions between the United States and China.
According to a report from The Associated Press, Qin Gang, China’s foreign minister, emphasized the significance of “mutual respect” in order to navigate the strained relations between the two countries.
The AP cited a statement from the Chinese foreign ministry, quoting Qin as saying, “We need to keep the steering wheel in the right direction of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation,” during his conversation with Musk.
