Twitter Fact-Checks Biden, Disputes His Claim About U.S. Defaulting On Debt

It turns out that President Biden ran afoul of a new Twitter feature known as Community Notes, which fact-checks and adds context to tweets.

Biden had claimed that America has “never, ever failed to pay our debt.” He, of course, blamed MAGA Republicans, whoever they are, for “threatening to force America into default.”

Twitter readers responded with a list of occasions when the U.S. defaulted on various debts.

America is not a deadbeat nation.
