- The U.S. Border Patrol is requesting that volunteers shift their deployment to the northern U.S.-Canada border after one sector had an 846% spike in undocumented migrants attempting to cross the border.
- Border Patrol Assistant Chief Juan Garcia sent an email to Border Patrol sector chiefs asking for help in the Swanton Sector, which includes parts of New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York.
- “Due to the increased numbers, stations are task saturated with processing large groups, which has contributed to gotaway events, pedestrian and vehicle incursions,” Garcia wrote, adding that the majority of the migrants are “Mexican migrants with no legal documents.”
