Ukraine Hit With Three-Fold Increase In Cyberattacks
Russian hacking at times deployed alongside missile strikes

- A senior figure in Ukraine’s cybersecurity agency reported that the country has been hit with triple the amount of cyberattacks in the last year.
- Viktor Zhora, a leading figure in Ukraine’s SSSCIP agency, said Russian cyberattacks are often executed in the form of destructive, disk-erasing wiper malware, while “in some cases, cyberattacks support kinetic effects.”
- SSSCIP recently released an analysis of Russia’s cyber strategy and determined that the cyberattacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure last fall were linked to Putin’s sustained bombing campaign.
