- Abbas also compared Israel, the only stable democracy in the Middle East, to Nazi Germany, claiming that “Israel lies ‘like Goebbels.'”
- While Abbas’ words were over the top, he knew he would find a receptive audience at the UN, which long has maintained a bias against Israel.
