  • U.S. special operations forces on Sunday executed a perilous evacuation of the American embassy in Sudan, as warring in the African country continues for more than a week.
  • With about 100 troops and three MH-47 helicopters, the U.S. embassy in Sudan’s capitol city of  Khartoum was reportedly evacuated in less than an hour.
  • There were reportedly no shots fires and no major casualties.
  • While the embassy is shuttered indefinitely,  thousands of private American citizens remaining in the east African country, in which over 400 people have been killed in the fighting.
