US Gas Prices Hit $4 A Gallon Amid Iran Operation

Gas prices on Tuesday reached $4 a gallon for the first time in the U.S. since August 2022 – amid the war with Iran.

The average price is now $4.018, up from $3.990 on Monday, according to AAA.

Prices have increased more than a dollar per gallon over the last month, AAA said, as the U.S. and Israel attacked Iran on Feb. 28.

While August 2022 was the last time that gas prices reached $4, in June of that year, prices briefly topped $5 a gallon after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
