• CENTCOM commander Gen. Michael Kurilla provided lawmakers with a “chilling assessment” of terror group ISIS-Khorasan’s capabilities during a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing.
• “It is my commander’s estimate that [ISIS-K] can do an external operation against US or Western interests abroad in under six months with little to no warning,” Kurilla said. “It’s much harder for them to be able to do that against the [US] homeland.”
• The terror group is responsible for launching the attack against U.S. service members at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in 2021 during the the chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal.
