- Vanderbilt University Medical Center has halted gender transition surgeries for minors following a report on its practices by the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh.
- The hospital’s deputy CEO, C. Wright Pinson, sent a letter to state Rep. Jason Zachary saying that the hospital is reviewing its procedures, adding, “We are pausing gender affirmation surgeries on patients under 18 while we complete this review, which may take several months.”
- Walsh had posted a video in which a Vanderbilt doctor bragged about how lucrative transgender surgeries are for hospital. “These surgeries are labor intensive,. They require a lot of followup. They require a lot of O.R. [operating room] time, and they make money – they make money for the hospital.”
