Health Care Leaders Urge End To Biden Vax Mandate Before Nov '24

  • With the federal COVID-19 vaccine requirement not set expire for roughly 20 months in the health care industry, some are calling for swifter end to the rule.
  • Roughly 750 nursing homes and 110 hospitals across the U.S. written up last year for violating federal staff vaccination rules, according to an Associated Press analysis of data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
  • Most of those found in violation were reportedly was just strongly advised to do better, but some nursing homes were also received fines, especially when they had multiple other problems.
  • One year after it began the nationwide enforcement of the health care industry vaccine requirement – which  affects about 10 million health industry workers – it remains the last of major mandate from President Biden’s in his attempt to increase national vaccination rates.
  • “Their regulations are making it harder to give care – not easier,” said Tim Corbin, the administrator of Truman Lake Manor, in Missouri.
