VIDEO: Police Arrest Boy, 12, After He Steals Forklift, Smashes 10 Cars

  • Police in Ann Arbor chased down a getaway vehicle of a different kind on Saturday night, along with the 12-year-old behind the wheel.
  • Police say 12-year-old boy stole a forklift at Forsythe Middle School. They responded to a call that said someone was trying to steal a construction vehicle. When they arrived, police found Construction Genie GTH-636 Telehandler and its attached forklift, being driven with no lights on.
  • The low-speed pursuit continued for an hour as multiple officers followed the forklift at speeds of 15 to 20 miles per hour with emergency lights and sirens operating. The construction vehicle hit 10 parked cars in one neighborhood.
