Virgin Galactic Holdings announced on Monday that it plans to conduct a four-member test flight in May and is targeting a late June launch for its first commercial flight, according to a company statement.
The stock rose by 4% following the announcement, with the company saying that the May mission would be the final test before opening up for commercial services.
Virgin Galactic, which is backed by billionaire Richard Branson, had previously postponed its commercial service to the first quarter of 2023 due to a supply chain crisis and labor shortage.
